Moscow – President Vladimir Putin has issued one of his most direct warnings to the United States, stating that supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk long-range missiles would lead to the “destruction” of the relationship between Moscow and Washington.
During a meeting with his military command, Putin claimed that the operational requirements of Tomahawks would necessitate the direct involvement of the US military, an act that would trigger a “qualitatively new stage of escalation.” His words leave little room for ambiguity, establishing a firm red line for the White House.
The Russian President’s threat was made in the context of what he described as significant military gains. He reported that his forces had taken control of almost 5,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in 2025, giving Moscow the “complete strategic initiative” in the conflict.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is fighting a war on multiple fronts, including a clandestine one. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using its oil tanker fleet for more than just commerce, alleging the ships are being used for “reconnaissance and even sabotage activities.”
Zelenskyy expressed his determination to combat this unconventional tactic. He stated that Kyiv is collaborating with its partners to address the issue, affirming his belief that “it is entirely possible to stop this” alleged misuse of civilian vessels.
