Ukraine is under mounting pressure to accept a US-backed peace plan that forces major concessions to Russia. Zelenskyy said Ukraine faces its most difficult dilemma since the start of the invasion. Trump wants the agreement signed by Thanksgiving.
The plan requires Ukraine to give up Donbas, shrink its army, and abandon NATO ambitions. Ukrainian lawmakers have called it absurd and dangerous. European governments strongly oppose the proposal.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine must choose between dignity and survival without US support. Winter has already brought widespread outages as Russian strikes cut energy supplies. Rejecting the deal may leave Ukraine exposed.
He said the plan would destroy Ukraine’s freedom and reward Russian aggression. He vowed never to take actions that violate Ukraine’s constitution or betray its defenders. He insisted that real peace must withstand future threats.
European leaders said Trump’s timeline is unrealistic and destabilizing. They urged a peace process grounded in Ukraine’s long-term security.
