This draft season, the Toronto Blue Jays selected JoJo Parker eighth overall, a move that brings one of high school baseball’s most versatile players into their ranks. Parker’s standout play at Purvis High earned him the distinction of highest-ever pick from the school.
In his senior year, Parker impressed with a .489 average at the plate, hitting 13 home runs and stealing 30 bases. His 64 runs scored and 35 RBIs were key to his team’s runner-up finish in the state playoffs.
Parker also excelled as a pitcher, posting eight wins, a stellar 2.77 ERA, and nearly 90 strikeouts over the season.
He is currently committed to Mississippi State, but Toronto now has the exclusive chance to sign and develop him into their next infield star.
