In a drive to enhance productivity and competitiveness, Vietnam, alongside other members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is intensifying efforts to assist micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in embracing digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI). During a recent workshop held in Hanoi, Vietnamese officials underscored the critical role of technology transfer, digital skills advancement, and innovation in supporting these enterprises.
The workshop served as a platform for representatives from APEC economies, international organizations, and leading tech companies to engage in discussions about AI adoption, the development of digital infrastructure, financial accessibility, and bridging the digital divide. The emphasis was on equipping MSMEs with the tools necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.
This initiative is part of Vietnam’s preparatory efforts to host the APEC summit in 2027. Participants at the workshop are working towards crafting policy recommendations that aim to promote the responsible use of AI and fortify regional cooperation in the digital economy. These measures are expected to lay the groundwork for a more integrated and technologically advanced APEC community.
