Qatar Chamber and Vietnam Enhance Trade and Investment Ties

In a recent meeting at Qatar Chamber’s Lusail headquarters, First Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari held discussions with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, aimed at bolstering economic and trade ties between the two nations. The dialogue centered on enhancing cooperation between private sector companies in both countries, identifying new investment opportunities, and pinpointing key sectors for future collaboration.

Al Kuwari reaffirmed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and joint investment projects with Vietnamese businesses, commending Vietnam for its robust economic growth. Meanwhile, Ambassador Hiep expressed Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic ties with Qatar, highlighting that bilateral trade between the two countries reached over $860 million in 2024, reflecting a $100 million increase from the previous year.

Encouraging Qatari investors to consider ventures in Vietnam, the ambassador particularly pointed to opportunities in agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He underscored the potential role of Qatar Chamber in facilitating the entry of Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods into the Qatari market.

Further extending an invitation to Qatari business leaders, the ambassador called on them to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City next September. The expo, a major global trade event, focuses on sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation, drawing international companies and industry leaders from sectors such as food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
